Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple, a chairman and majority shareholder of Pixar, on the Walt Disney Company board of directors, and the founder and CEO of NeXT. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003 and fought the hard battle for eight years, longer than expected. He died of respiratory arrest as a result of the tumor at 56 in 2011.
Steve Jobs Recent Photo on Reddit
Recently, a photo was uploaded to Reddit showing a man who had a striking similarity to Steve Jobs sitting at a table in Egypt. See the photo of a man that resembles Steve Jobs here. The earliest person to post the image was a Cairo-based social media director named Ahmed Basyouney.
Viral Photo of Steve Jobs
Despite the fact that the photo was probably posted as a joke, the picture has gone viral on social media and people have been going crazy with conspiracy theories of how the Apple magnate faked his own death to live out a peaceful life. Similarities have been pointed out between the image and Jobs himself such as the bare feet, similar glasses, touching of the beard, and hand gestures.
“This guy looks too much like Steve Jobs to be so random,” one user wrote.
“I’m not very into conspiracy theories, but Jobs would be crazy enough to actually do it,”
said another. Some believe that Jobs had a twin that was separated at birth.
Steve Jobs Doppelgänger
Some users have pointed out discrepancies with the Jobs doppelgänger, claiming there is no way that he can be Steve Jobs. One Redditor noticed that he isn’t wearing an Apple Watch, a sign that the man is not, in fact, Steve Jobs. Others claimed that the profile view makes it difficult to judge how much the guy in the picture really looks like Steve Jobs. “Side profile and the night time photography (high contrast of the shadows) could be deceiving.
I wonder what this guy actually looks like when you look at him from the front,” one Reddit user wrote. “There’s a reason why facial recognition is done from the front and not via side profile.” In addition, the doctors that treated Jobs said that his cancer treatments were aggressive that it killed his body in the process, meaning he would not have been able to fake his own death.
The resemblance between the two is clear. Jobs’ father was an immigrant from Syria and Egypt is located very close to Syria, this makes it more likely that men sharing similar physical attributes would be found in Mediterranean countries.
This is not the first time that there has been a conspiracy theory that Jobs faked his own death. In 2014, a selfie posted to Reddit sparked the idea that the Apple co-founder was incognito in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
